Woolly Rhinoceros
Paleontologists of Saha Republic (Yakutia) have managed to lose the remains of the Woolly Rhinoceros found in June, 2007.
According to photos, the find was really unique - a prehistoric animal carcass almost completely was kept: head, trunk, pair legs, and tail. The employee of French company "Ciri" has managed to make photos of carcass transportation. Before colds it was kept in a hiding place, and then by means of the elevating crane it have been transported to Chersky village and have been put in a warehouse. Already next day the rhinoceros has disappeared. The carcass weighed about a ton, and it was difficult to take it out from a warehouse imperceptibly. There is a version, that the rhinoceros was simply hidden for the subsequent sale.
The Woolly Rhinoceros – is one of the most known animals of a glacial age. It conceded with its size and force only to the mammoth and weighed about three tons. Not only at males had horns but also at females. Curved back front horn with the sharp end reached 130 centimeters at length and weighed up to 15 kg, the back horn was smaller.
